Leading Student Staff - Roundtable

This workshop has a Part A and Part B, which are typically scheduled back-to-back. Part A is “A Training for New Managers of Student Staff.” It covers the basics of management, of performance management, coaching, and engagement, with a focus on the distinctives of working with student staff. It will explore motivation and team building, the potential boss/mentor dynamic, as well as get into difficult conversations to have with student staff. Part B is “The Roundtable Discussion,” and is intended to provide a moderated forum for managers of student staff to talk about challenges and share tips. The expectation for the Roundtable is that managers of student staff can attend every year if they wish and continue to get value from time spent with peers facing similar challenges. Either session may be attended alone, or they can be attended together.
