This class builds on the information covered in SharePoint 101 and provides advanced information on how to customize Apps to better fit business needs. Also covered will be benefits of using SharePoint over other traditional file storage systems. This is the second class in the series for Site Owners, but is open to everyone. SharePoint 101 is a recommended prerequisite for this class, but not required.
Identify what Metadata is, and how to configure it for better functionality and efficiency. Setup Views, filtering, sorting, document sets, and content types associated with the Metadata attached to a file. Learn best practices to get the most out of your information and avoid common mistakes. Also covered will be setting up Alerts to make sure that you are keeping informed about any changes as well as tips to enforce ‘clean’ data collection. Permissions will be covered along with the different roles, what permissions are associated with these roles, and how the different layers of permissions interact. A brief introduction of Workflows will also be provided. A test environment will also be available for exercises corresponding to the lessons and general practice.
