Detailed Class Information
Class Name: Change Management: Leading Individuals and Teams Through Transitions
Provided By: Human Resources Professional Development
Description: Western is experiencing systems updates, succession of employees, generational turnover, demands for efficiency, and a certain degree of organizational deferred maintenance. Change Management is one of three legs in major change projects; along with Leadership Sponsorship and Project Management.
Objectives: We will explore the science and philosophy of helping people adapt as individuals and teams. The ADKAR model of: Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability and Reinforcement will be covered along with best practices around: leadership sponsorship, communication planning, assessing scar tissue, the increasing pace of change, and why the right “answer” is not enough when it comes to helping people to adapt. Leaders and individuals whose work units are experiencing significant changes will benefit from understanding the concepts explored in this workshop. The Organizational and Professional Development unit in HR works with leaders throughout Western in planning and implementation of large change projects. This course will also help to inform how you can partner for services around Change Management.
